National Seminar 2020, Implementation of Renewable Energy to Climate Crisis in Indonesia

On November 11, 2020, Diponegoro University Environmental Engineering Association again held a National Seminar, this year the National Seminar was held via online through Zoom Meeting. This national seminar held the theme "Implementation of Renewable Energy to Climate Crisis in Indonesia". The seminar was attended by approximately 300 participants from inside and outside diponegoro University's Environmental Engineering Study Program. This year's national seminar invited three competent speakers in their respective fields. The first speaker was Satrio Swandiko as a renewable energy campaigner from NGO Greenpeace. The second speaker is Sapto Nugroho who is managing director of the Institute of Economics and People (IBEKA) as implementer of renewable energy type micro hydro. Furthermore, the third speaker is Abdul Karim who is the CEO of the solar energy startup Warung Energi.

The seminar began at 13.00 WIB starting with the screening of a documentary video, then continued with the presentation of a speech by the Head of the Department of Environmental Engineering, Dr. Badrus S.T., M.T., then a speech by the Chairman of the Environmental Engineering Student Association 2020, R. Nanda Samsuseno, and was buoyed by the speech of expo 2020 Environmental Engineering chief executive Dicky Rafif. The National Seminar was followed by the presentation of the first material as well as a question and answer by Satrio Swandiko on climate conditions, development, renewable energy trends and, as well as the urgency of renewable energy development as a form of reduction from the impact of the climate crisis. Next, the delivery of the second material and the question and answer by Sapto Nugroho, this second material provides a real picture of the implementation of micro hydro renewable energy in nusa tenggara and the archipelago as a form of environmental care and community service. After that, the event continued with an ice breaking session packed through a prize quiz. Then the event continued the delivery of materials as well as a question and answer session by Abdul Karim on the implementation, technology, and potential of solar energy in Indonesia.

After the submission of the material by all speakers, this National Seminar activity concluded with the announcement of the winner of EPTION activities, quizzes, doorprizes, and also photos together. The hope of the EXPO Environmental Engineering Team is that the national seminar activities can foster the spirit of environmental care in supporting the development of renewable energy, and can benefit all participating participants.
